Children’s Ministry:
We call it
"Kingdom-Ready-Kidz.""Unless the LORD builds the house, they labor in vain who build it." -- Psalm 127:1b.
We believe that by raising kids with Kingdom Purpose, our end result with be kids who are respectful of others, of their parents and family, of God, and who will respect themselves. Knightstown Family Fellowship wants to equip both the parent and the child with core biblical values and precepts that will make raising faithful, God-loving and God-serving kids a little easier in our present day lives.
It’s not easy being a parent or guardian of a child, especially in the 21st century! We can’t just be re-active anymore, like our parents and grandparents were. We have to be pro-active in our parenting style to guard our children’s hearts and help steer them in the right direction of making good choices that will bring about a joyful and God-honoring life for Him. This is the biggest and most important gift that we can ever give them! A life full of joy and purpose now, and a hope for eternal life in the age to come, in the Kingdom of God! Thus the name
: Kingdom-Ready-Kidz!At Kingdom-Ready-Kidz, we will be teaching kids character values and traits from the great heroes of the Bible. We will be equipping them with knowledge and understanding of what the Kingdom of God really is and how to enter into it! We will be giving them the foundational, biblical truths of who God is and who Jesus is! We will also be training and equipping parents, so they can provide a loving home, good instruction and habits throughout the week, and a foundation upon the Bible in order that we build our home with God, and not do it alone.
Our previous series, "Super Heroes of the Bible," ran on Sunday mornings, November 2 - 23, 11 a.m. - 12 p.m., at the Kennard Elementary School. The aims of this adventure: changing the world, one home at a time! Spreading the Gospel of the Kingdom, one heart at a time! Giving our children a hope for their future, that God has a plan for them!
If you or your kids want to pre-register for our next series, you can call us at 765-987-1648 or email us at KFF@wwvremc.net.
Our prayer for you is this: "How blessed is everyone who fears the LORD, who walks in His ways. When you shall eat of the fruit of your hands, you will be happy and it will be well with you. Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine, within your house, your children like olive plants around your table. Behold, for thus shall the man be blessed who fears the LORD." Psalm 128:1-3.
Events: Kids need to have time to have FUN together, plus learn! So, we have taken Kingdom-Ready-Kidz to the Creation Museum in Cincinatti; the Indianapolis Zoo; gone on overnight youth retreats all over Indiana and Ohio; experienced week-long summer youth camps in Ohio at Kiser Lake; and had overnight camp outs in our own backyard! Back-to-School Bashes; Out-of-School Parties; and Back Yard Bible Schools!
If you have a heart for kids, this may be a ministry for you to serve! Just contact us to see how you can get more involved and active in raising our kids for Christ with Kingdom Purpose!
A letter from Angela Moore:
Dear parent and grandparent,
Parenting a child is such a monumental task. Sometimes, it seems almost overwhelming when you consider the responsibility that we hold in our hands. However, I want to share with you what happened to me, personally, in hopes that you may share my story and have the same desire as I have, to want to raise a child that turns out to be a joy to others, a joy to our own family, and one who will grow up with morals and values, and Godly pursuits.
It all started for me when I had my first baby. I was so excited to have a baby, but at the same time, I didn’t really know too much about them. I like to read books, so I immediately began to self-educate myself on how to take care of a baby. Then, my next concern began to be that I wanted to raise my child with godly values and virtues, but couldn’t have made a list of those if I had wanted to.
I had grown up attending Sunday School, Church and youth group on a very consistent basis. But, by the time I was 27 years old, having my first baby, I couldn’t remember the Bible stories any longer to tell them to my child, and that’s when I realized, I had better get my Bible out and start reeducating myself on spiritual matters. I made a promise to myself that I would faithfully read my Bible every day, no matter what. That simple commitment changed my life completely. I’ve never been the same.
Reading a boring old Bible, because that’s what I thought of it at the time, changed everything. More than I ever dreamed. It changed my marriage. It changed how I got along with people at work. It changed from how my world once revolved around me and my family and opened my eyes to the world around me, and how we are called to love others and to share the gospel of the Kingdom. The simplest thing as reading my Bible every day, shook me to my core. I realized how selfish I was, easily angered, amongst other horrible habits, and instead, I began to be filled with such joy and purpose and passion than I ever dreamed possible.
In Kingdom-Ready-Kidz, I want to share with you what I’ve learned over the years. My kids are not perfect and I don’t want you to expect them to be. They’re kids. I’m not a perfect parent, and I don’t want you to expect me to be. But I have to say that my children are a joy. They are a blessing. Most of the time.
And by studying the Bible and seeking a personal relationship with God and His Son, Jesus, it has positively affected my parenting in a huge way that I want to share with you.
"Behold, children are a gift of the LORD; the fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of the warrior, so are the children of one’s youth. How blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them." -- Psalm 127:3-5.
Let us see our kids as a blessing, and together, work towards the goal of entrusting their hearts to Jesus and their futures in the hands of the Almighty God! Let’s encourage one another and share our burdens, because parenting is probably the most difficult and challenging thing you will ever do in this lifetime! We need each other. We need encouragement. Inspiration. Guidance. Love. Acceptance. Hugs. Not perfection, but authenticity. Not sinlessness, but forgiveness. Not judgment, but grace. Not harsh legalism, but motivation to try harder and trust God more!
Parenting by faith, not fear. That’s what we will learn to do together at KFF. Join with me and my husband, Tony, as we go through this adventure, called "parenting", together!
In Christ I live and hope,
Angela Hays Moore
